- Under the agreement, production will ensure 2,000 pairs are made in India with artisans from Maharashtra and Karnataka, debuting in February across 40 select Prada stores and Prada's official e-commerce platform, including training through a three-year partnership and Prada Group Academy placements.
- Artisans and officials expect the deal will raise incomes, attract young workers, and preserve heritage, while LIDKAR and LIDCOM, with Maharashtra officials, welcome it as supporting culture and creating sustainable livelihoods.
- Framing the move as part of its 'Made In' project, Prada presented it as a decade-old initiative to celebrate artisanal excellence worldwide.
