HENDERSON — The Louisiana Department of Health has asked residents and visitors to avoid areas of Henderson Lake where a blue-green algae bloom that produces harmful toxins has been observed. The cyanobacteria bloom has been confirmed by satellite imagery. While some algae is harmless, certain types of cyanobacteria can produce toxins that are harmful to people and animals. Testing is required to determine whether toxins are present, LDH said Th…
