Dominican authorities on Saturday were working to ensure that foreign tourists caught up in a massive fire that almost completely destroyed a luxury resort the day before could return to their home countries.
In the popular coastal town of Bayahibe, flames sweep through a luxury hotel, hundreds have to flee, a holidaymaker dies. Wind and palm leaves in the roof construction could have fuelled the fire further.
The severe fire that ravaged a luxurious hotel in the Dominican Republic caused panic and vacationers had to be evacuated in a jersey.
