SIC NotíciasIn quarterly terms, the general government balance in the second quarter of 2026 was set at EUR 1325 million, corresponding to 1.6% of GDP.
In the first half of the year a budgetary surplus of 0.5% was found. The second quarter brought a balance of 1.6%.
In the first quarter of this year, when the impact of the implementation of exceptional measures in support of areas affected by the transition from depressions Kristin, Leonardo and Marta was found, Portugal recorded a budget deficit of 0.7% of GDP.
Balance during the first half of this year was positive at 0.5% of GDP, a result that gives a margin of EUR 1600 million compared to last year for the government to meet its target for the year as a whole.
On a quarterly basis, the balance of the PAs in the 2nd quarter of 2026 was set at EUR 1,325 million.
