The deputy explained that the decision was taken considering that the holder of the Interior has been in office for approximately two months and that, in the opinion of the majority of the bench, there are no elements to support censorship.
The motion of censure against the Minister of the Interior, César Astudillo, has generated discrepancies within Now Nation. Rep. Harvey Colchado publicly asked his fellow benches to reject it and proposed to exercise a “firm but technical opposition.” Instead, Senators Mirtha Vásquez and Ruth Luque expressed their support for the censorship.
Popular Force Senator Karla Schaefer rejected the motion of censure against César Astudillo and asked the Chamber of Deputies to reflect.
