Pope Francis' diaries to be published next month, revealing reflections on Vatican years

The book will include reflections spanning 1992 to 2024 and is being released in English and four other languages, Image said.

  • On Monday, Image, an imprint of Penguin Random House Christian Publishing Group, announced that "The Private Diary of Pope Francis" will be released Nov. 24 in English and four other languages.

  • Sister Bernadette Reis translated the English-language edition from the Spanish original, while Victor Manuel Fernandez, head of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, edited and annotated the work.
  • According to Image, the book provides an "extraordinary glimpse" into the late pontiff's "hopes and fears, struggles and prayers," reflecting the life of the first Latin American pope, Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
