Polymarket Rebuilds Its Core Smart Contracts With Protocol V2, Targets Nov. 2 Switchover
The new system consolidates positions, collateral and routing into one modular contract stack and includes a $5 million bug bounty, Polymarket said.
- On Monday, Protocol Rajath Alex introduced Polymarket Protocol V2, a comprehensive rebuild of the platform's core smart contracts designed to replace the system used since launch.
- The platform was built on the Conditional Tokens Framework, code Gnosis released in 2019, which Alex noted "Polymarket currently runs on smart contracts that were never designed for what it became."
- V2 consolidates the architecture into a single ERC-1155 contract and one router, with code audited by Certora, Quantstamp, and Zellic alongside a $5 million bug bounty.
- For users, "No technical migration is required," according to Polymarket, as existing positions remain under the old framework while new markets transition to V2 on Nov. 2.
- A new OracleAggregator handles resolution and connects to UMA and Chainlink, while the system supports upgrades through governance, positioning V2 as the foundation for future features like scalar resolution.

Polymarket Rebuilds Its Core Smart Contracts With Protocol V2, Targets Nov. 2 Switchover
Polymarket's head of protocol said V2 replaces a stack of add-on contracts built over 2019 Gnosis code with one modular system, and a handful of live markets run on it through October.
Polymarket began testing its V2 protocol in production, a reconstruction that unifies positions in an ERC-1155 contract and incorporates pUSD as collateral. The platform plans to move completely new markets to the system in November, if its tentative schedule is met.
Polymarket Protocol V2 Targets Nov. 2 Shift With PUSD And Unified Market System
Polymarket is preparing a November rollout for its rebuilt market infrastructure, with new contracts, pUSD collateral and modular oracle support. Existing CTF markets will remain on the legacy system, allowing the platform to phase in the upgrade without moving current balances or positions.
