Police Scotland Carrying Out Additional Patrols at Synagogues After Manchester Attack
Police Scotland has increased patrols at Jewish places of worship and urged vigilance after a Manchester attack killed two and injured four, officials said.

- Police Scotland had already planned to increase patrols at Jewish places of worship as part of its existing policing plan for the Jewish High Holy Days.
- Police described the suspect's equipment and response: the attacker wore a vest described as having the appearance of an explosive device that was not viable, and armed police shot the suspect dead within seven minutes.
- Counter terrorism police announced two arrests, Greater Manchester Police confirmed two deaths, four people in hospital and a bomb disposal unit was deployed, while Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer ordered extra police assets and chaired emergency talks.
- Police Scotland said it is communicating with faith and community leaders and urged the public to remain "alert but not alarmed" as there is no specific threat in Scotland.
