Family of Girl, 13, ‘Living in Fear’ After Alleged Rape in East London Park
Police have released images of two men sought in the attack, and Crimestoppers is offering £10,000 for information leading to a conviction.
The Metropolitan Police released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to regarding the rape of a 13-year-old girl in Bethnal Green, London, on August 1, 2024.
At 23:30 BST in Weavers Fields, two men led the victim from Whitechapel Road before she was found and assisted by a passerby who alerted authorities.
Detectives have conducted extensive inquiries including forensic examinations and CCTV review since 2024, while independent charity Crimestoppers offers a £10,000 reward for information leading to conviction.
The victim's family stated, "Our daughter continues to live in fear," describing how the attack has devastated their family in ways "difficult to put into words."
Detective Chief Inspector Anna Deighton urged anyone with information to contact police on 101 or report anonymously to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
According to the minor's complaint, she had met two men on Whitechapel Road, who convinced her to follow them to nearby Weavers Fields Park, where, she alleged, the rape occurred.
