- On Thursday around 1:30 a.m., an unknown male wearing a mask approached a group on the Tobey Prinz Beach pier and opened fire, striking Sheridan Gorman in the head and killing her at the scene.
- Gorman's family, through an attorney, demanded answers, and Loyola President Mark C. Reed called her death 'a tragic loss' after the shooting.
