In Aksaray, 16-year-old Talha Birge, upon seeing a patrolling police officer, panicked and ran a red light on his motorcycle, crashing into a jeep. Birge, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, while his friend Muhammed Mustafa Ciğit, who was riding behind him, was seriously injured. In the hospital, Ciğit told his mother that he would be "disabled" and that his friend had died.
