- Troops of the 21 Battalion and the Nigerian Navy Ship Lugard engaged the kidnappers, who fled with gunshot wounds, Acting Director Army Public Relations Appolonia Anele said. One local hunter died and a police officer sustained injuries.
- Rescued individuals are undergoing documentation and medical assessment before reunification with families, Anele stated, after being transferred to the Nigeria Police, Ajaokuta Division, for further processing.
- Intensified security efforts across Kogi State continue, with recent deployments to the Okene-Ajaokuta axis targeting forests where armed groups exploit hideouts and escape routes along major highways and border corridors.
