The Montenegrin police failed to find a monument to the Chetnik leader and criminal Pavlo Đurišić in the Đurđevi Stupovi Monastery in Berane, and they officially informed the court about this, it was announced today.
The Montenegrin police raided the Đurđevi Stupovi monastery, near Beran, trying to take away the monument to Duke Pavlo Đurišić, Montenegrin media reported.
"The police were met by the abbot and head of the monastery, Danilo Trpčevski, with the clergy and allowed the police officers to inspect the dormitory, but they did not find the monument there. The abbot contacted Metropolitan Metodije by phone and he told the police that there were rooms in the monastery to which only he had the key," said a senior police source familiar with the events in Berane.
