HUGE Fire Shuts Herts M25 in Both Directions Amid Risk of Another Explosion
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent 10 fire engines after the blaze, and officials warned of smoke, debris and a secondary explosion risk.
The M25 is closed in both directions between Junctions 22 and 21A following a massive warehouse fire at Ventura Park in StAlbans, with National Highways confirming the full motorway shutdown.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service dispatched 10 fire engines and an aerial ladder platform at 9.21am to tackle the blaze, while officials warned of a risk of secondary explosion amid smoke and debris.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Mark Barber stated, "Firefighters are working hard to bring the situation under control," while police closed roads in Colney Street and Old Parkbury Lane near the fire.
An air ambulance was observed circling the scene as officials advised nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed to protect against smoke inhalation and airborne debris.
All emergency services remain on-site as National Highways maintains the full motorway closure due to ongoing risks from smoke and debris affecting the carriageway.
