Police: 1 dead after shooting at Muncie apartment complex
Police said the 25-year-old victim was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead as detectives work to identify him.
- On Monday, September 7, 2026, a 25-year-old man was fatally shot at the Earthstone Apartment Complex on South Juniper Lane in Muncie. Police arrived shortly after 10:15 p.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound.
- Officers responding to the scene heard radio reports of two suspects fleeing into an apartment building side door. Police locked down the facility and reportedly took at least one person into custody during a search.
