Los Angeles-based Inception Point AI created 200,000 episodes, representing 1% of all podcasts online, leveraging low costs and fast production to reshape the industry.
- Los Angeles podcasting studio Inception Point AI has produced 200,000 podcast episodes, representing 1% of all podcasts and attracting 400,000 subscribers, CEO Jeanine Wright said.
- At just $1 to produce an episode and profitable with 25 listeners, AI production tools spot trending people and create two episodes, while voice-cloning companies with operations in California and Hume AI raised $50 million last year.
- Using automated pipelines, Inception Point produced two shows called 'Charlie Kirk Death' and 'Charlie Kirk Manhunt,' with Wright saying, `We were able to create all of that content, each with different angles, pulling from different news sources, and we were able to get that content up within an hour`.
- Some podcasters are requesting restrictions as many listeners view AI-hosted episodes as a breach of trust, and Jason Saldanha of PRX warned the tsunami of AI podcasts won't attract premium ad rates.
- Platforms such as YouTube and Spotify now let creators clone voices and translate content, while Hume AI's CEO says voice AI is nearing human likeness, boosting Inception Point's flash-biography strategy.
