PM Modi Lays Wreath at Yangi Uzbekistan Park in Tashkent

- On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tashkent for a two-day official visit, receiving a warm welcome from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the airport. This marks Modi's fourth visit to Uzbekistan.
- Modi is scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with Mirziyoyev to strengthen strategic partnerships between the two countries. Leaders are expected to review cooperation in trade, investment, defence, and digital connectivity.
- Visiting Yangi Uzbekistan Park, the two leaders laid a wreath at the Independence Monument symbolizing freedom and goodness. Modi also witnessed Kathak and Andijan Polka performances by the Indian diaspora and Uzbek children dancing to 'Ude Jab Jab Zulfe Teri'.
- On Sunday, the Prime Minister joined a yoga session in Tashkent hosted by the Yoga Federation. The Ministry of External Affairs said yoga is "bringing people and cultures together" and strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Uzbekistan.
- Modi will travel to Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 1 for the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, continuing the first leg of his two-nation diplomatic tour. This positions India to deepen strategic partnerships across Central Asia.
