PLATINUM EQUITY TO SELL DE WAVE GROUP FOLLOWING MULTI-YEAR TRANSFORMATION
The sale follows a turnaround that lifted revenue and EBITDA and pushed backlog above €1 billion, Platinum Equity said.
- On Tuesday, investment firm Platinum Equity announced plans to sell De Wave Group, a global marine interiors specialist, to Renaissance Partners.
- Platinum Equity acquired De Wave in October 2019, shortly before the cruise industry faced unprecedented disruption during the pandemic as operators paused sailings and deferred newbuild activity.
- Under Platinum Equity's ownership, De Wave Group doubled revenue and EBITDA, reaching record fiscal 2025 revenue of more than €400 million while growing its backlog to more than €1 billion.
- Group CEO Riccardo Pompili stated, "Platinum Equity was a committed partner throughout an extraordinary period," while Co-President Louis Samson called the investment a key milestone for the firm in Europe.
- Pending customary regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, reflecting Platinum Equity's continued investment commitment in Italy.
