This year, after several years of delay, the comprehensive renovation of Pilsen's Jiráskova Square is set to begin. The transformation of the architecturally valuable but somewhat shabby heart of the Slovany district into a "blue-green pearl" - as the project's information slogan describes it - will cost almost half a billion. The district has now released another tens of millions requested by the central city hall.
