On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Union defeated FC Cincinnati 5-0 at Subaru Park, extending their unbeaten streak since the World Cup break. Bruno Damiani secured his first MLS hat trick in the dominant victory.
Playing shorthanded after defensive midfielder Obinna Nwobodo received a straight red card in the 16th minute following a video review, Cincinnati struggled defensively throughout the match.
Philadelphia recorded 64.7% possession while outshooting Cincinnati 19-1, dominating the statistical battle. Cavan Sullivan provided three assists, while Quinn Sullivan and Milan Iloski each scored from the penalty spot.
FC Cincinnati dropped to seventh place in the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference, with Nwobodo and Evander facing mandatory suspensions for Saturday's match against Charlotte at TQL Stadium.
