PFAS cleanup at North Bay airport site could take until 2037, city official says

North Bay, Ont. – The cleanup of forever chemicals at the city’s Jack Garland Airport site is likely to continue until 2037, a city official says. The PFAS-contaminated area is linked to firefighting training which took place at the airport from the 1970s to 1990s. Firefighting foam contains the forever chemicals which have been found in both surface and groundwater flowing toward North Bay’s drinking water sources. Sudbury.com report
