Péter Magyar promised a large-scale increase in family allowances by 2027, with which the government would reach for a subsidy that has been unchanged since 2008. Zoltán Árokszállási, director of the MBH Analysis Center, told Economx: a more moderate increase could still be manageable, but doubling it would already mean an additional expenditure of about 300 billion forints per year.
