NFL Club Owner Arrested on Eve of Historic MCG Clash
York was sentenced to one day in jail on each charge and ordered to pay $1,150 in fines after the sting, court records said.
On Sunday, San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, and pleaded no contest Monday to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
York allegedly "arranged to have sexual activity" with a woman "in exchange for $140" after responding to an undercover ad placed by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, according to Ohio court records.
A judge sentenced York to one day in jail, credited as time served, and fined him $1,150; $160 seized during the arrest will go to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
The 49ers stated, "As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time," while the NFL confirmed it will review the matter under its personal conduct policy.
Less than three weeks before the 49ers face the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, NFL owners remain subject to potential discipline, though the league previously investigated but did not punish New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft in 2019.
