Peoria Police Chief: Man hospitalized after shooting near convenience store

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting Thursday afternoon. The shooting occurred just before 1 p.m. on Oct. 2 at University Convenience Foodmart and Fresh Deli between West Gift Avenue and West Virginia Avenue, Peoria police chief Eric Echevarria said.
