Pedestrian hit, killed by snow plow at Minneapolis airport
A 47-year-old man was fatally struck during active snow removal amid severe winter conditions that led to a Ground Delay at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport.
- On Tuesday, a 47-year-old man was struck and killed by a snowplow on the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport campus near the LSG Sky Chefs facility, a Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesperson said.
- Amid just over 2-inches of snow and high winds causing blowing and drifting, MSP briefly instituted a Ground Delay, a Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesperson said.
- Airport Police say they responded around 7:30 to the LSG Sky Chefs facility on the 3100 block of East 73rd Street and found the victim in the parking lot just south of Terminal 2.
- MSP Airport Police are investigating the incident with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol, and authorities have not released additional operational details as the inquiry continues.
- Officials say the victim has not been publicly identified and circumstances remain unreleased, according to a Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesperson.
