Planned rally does not constitute risk to public order, administrative court says
The Paris Administrative Court found that the demonstration organized by the collective Urgence Palestine did not pose a sufficiently marked risk of disorder to public order. The gathering is scheduled for Wednesday evening, the day of the commemorations of 7 October.
Initially banned by the Paris police prefecture on Wednesday, 7 October, the demonstration of the Palestine Emergency collective was finally authorized.
For judges, the choice of this date "may shock" but does not characterise a threat of disorder to public order. The Rhône prefecture has for its part banned a similar gathering near Lyon.
A call for protest in Vénissieux had been circulating on social networks for several days. Three years after the massacres of 7 October in Israel, the prefecture decided to ban any gathering.
