Paramount Requests $1.88B Bond From State AGs Trying to Stop Paramount Merger
Paramount is requesting a $1.88 billion bond from 12 Democratic state attorneys general who are suing to stop the Paramount Skydance-Warner Bros. Discovery merger.
Ashley Baker, Executive Director of the Committee for Justice, criticized the bond request as politically motivated and irresponsible, specifically under Attorney General Rob Bonta.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta leads the coalition of 12 state attorneys general and the Writers Guild of America in the antitrust lawsuit opposing the merger.
Paramount stated that plaintiffs must accept financial consequences if their challenge fails, and Bonta's office said the bond request lacks merit and looks forward to the court hearing on September 24.
