PAPER TRAILS: North Little Rock aviation group rebuilding World War II-era aircraft | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

On Oct. 12, 1942, as World War II raged on, student pilots began training at the Walnut Ridge Army Flying School. More than 5,300 aspiring airmen learned how to fly above the farmlands of northeast Arkansas in the BT-13 Valiant, a basic training plane built by Vultee Aircraft.
