Panthers forward Dane Svingen-Jones jumps to SJHL’s Melfort Mustangs

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that forward Dane Svingen-Jones has signed with the Melfort Mustangs of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The Panthers receive a player development fee in exchange for his Junior A playing rights. Svingen-Jones, a 2007-born forward, departs the Panthers after cementing himself in the franchise record books during the 2025-26 season. The 6-foot-1, 181-pound forward set a franchise record for most goals in a single season by scoring 41 goals in 41 games. He also recorded 25 assists to finish the year with 66 points, which ranks as the fourth-highest single-season point total in Panthers history. A native of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Svingen-Jones is ranked fifth all-time in franchise goals. In 72 career games with Port Moody, the right-shot forward amassed 48 goals and 29 assists for 77 points. The Panthers organization is incredibly proud of Svingen-Jones and everything he accomplished in Port Moody.
