Pandora Opens $150m Vietnam Factory, World's Largest Jewellery Plant, Boosting Capacity and Supply Chain Resilience
The 7.5-hectare site is designed to make up to 60 million pieces a year as Pandora expands production beyond Thailand.
- On Thursday, Danish jewelry maker Pandora inaugurated a $150 million manufacturing facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, its largest to date and first production site outside Thailand.
- Located in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park III, the 7.5-hectare plant will increase Pandora's overall manufacturing capacity by around 50% and operate on 100 percent renewable electricity.
- Pandora CEO Berta de Pablos-Barbier described the investment as "building the capacity today for the Pandora of tomorrow." Vietnam will initially represent around 15% of global capacity, rising to a third by 2030.
- Recruitment focuses on the region, with 25 experienced craftspeople from Thailand training new hires in gold-plated jewelry production. The site utilizes recycled silver and gold to support sustainability goals.
- Amid potential trade-related uncertainties like higher US tariffs, de Pablos-Barbier noted the firm is "not building for that capacity on Day One," prioritizing long-term operational integration.
