Nebius Rises 6% as Palantir Names It Preferred Sovereign AI Partner; Palantir Stock Slips
The partnership will let eligible customers run and fine-tune open models on Nebius infrastructure while keeping control of their data, models and compute.
On Tuesday, Palantir Technologies Inc. named Nebius Group its preferred sovereign AI partner, integrating Nebius' cloud infrastructure into Palantir's enterprise software for commercial customers.
This collaboration unites Palantir's enterprise AI software with Nebius' specialized cloud compute infrastructure, allowing eligible customers to deploy and fine-tune models while maintaining control over their data and computing resources.
Palantir CEO Alex Karp stated Nebius' infrastructure powers the ability to run AI models "under conditions you control," while the companies plan to deploy modular data centers to expand compute capacity.
Markets reacted to the news Tuesday by sending Nebius stock up 6% while Palantir shares slipped 2%, though analysts noted the preferred-partner designation carries no disclosed financial commitment.
Nebius faces customer concentration, as three clients represented 59% of Q2 revenue, with its future outlook depending on reaching a contracted power target of more than 4 GW by year-end 2026.
Palantir and Nebius announced a strategic alliance to offer infrastructure of sovereign artificial intelligence, at a time when Nebius accumulates more than $40 billion in commitments and Palantir accelerates its commercial growth.
