Pakistan, Arab states strongly condemn Israel’s Gaza ceasefire violations
- On Saturday, Pakistan's Foreign Office said Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar condemned Israel's repeated ceasefire violations that killed and injured Palestinians in Gaza.
- With talks underway, Hamas said Israel breached the truce and controls just under half of Gaza, where nearly all of the more than 2 million residents live, amid efforts to advance the peace process and implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
- Israel pounded Gaza with deadly airstrikes on Saturday, killing more than 30 people, including three girls from one family, in attacks on houses, tents and a police station.
- In their joint statement, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar urged all parties to uphold responsibilities and exercise utmost restraint, emphasizing the need to preserve the ceasefire and create conditions for early recovery and reconstruction.
- The Pakistan Foreign Office warned such violations risk escalating tensions and jeopardizing regional peace and stability, while diplomacy and consolidation of calm continue.
