Pak foreign minister discusses regional situation with Iranian counterpart
Pakistan said Dar and Araghchi discussed mediation as Tehran reviews a 14-point peace proposal and Washington sends a response through Pakistani intermediaries.
On Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, discussing Pakistan's ongoing diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability.
Iran's foreign ministry confirmed Monday that Tehran submitted a 14-point plan "focused on ending the war," with the United States already responding through Pakistani mediators.
The proposal aims to "transform the ceasefire into an end to the war within 30 days," envisioning a non-aggression pledge and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
US President Donald Trump stated that representatives are having "very positive discussions" with Iran, which could "lead to something very positive for all" involved.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar reaffirmed that "dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path toward the peaceful resolution of issues" to achieve lasting regional stability.
