The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) issued a statement updating countries on the increased circulation of influenza A virus (H3N2), subclade K (J.2.4.1). In addition, it calls for the strengthening of virus surveillance and the promotion of vaccination, especially among older adults and people with risk factors.
Although national and international authorities rule out a cause for alarm, they do call for increased vaccination and epidemiological surveillance in the face of the possibility of a more intense winter season.
