- On Wednesday night in Karachi, heavy rain and strong winds lashed Pakistan's largest city, collapsing walls and roofs while uprooting trees across multiple locations. Emergency services and hospital officials reported at least 15 deaths and more than two dozen injured.
- The Pakistan Meteorological Department said winds of up to 90 kph lasted for hours as a westerly weather system brought the storms. Rain began around 9pm, affecting nearly all seven districts of the city.
- Measurements up to 11pm showed Mauripur recorded 22mm and DHA Phase-II 15mm, while rainfall was reported across neighbourhoods including Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Clifton. Downed trees and flooded roads disrupted traffic on major thoroughfares.
- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah directed municipal bodies and district administrations to prioritise drainage and ensure pumping stations remain operational. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab urged residents to stay indoors as crews worked to clear roads.
- Bodies were shifted to Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi while rescue efforts continued to retrieve others from collapsed structures. Rain and storms also affected many other areas across Pakistan, emergency services reported.
