Overnight shooting at Lee County home leaves 1 dead, 1 jailed

An early morning shooting at a Lee County home left one man dead and another in jail. Deputies were dispatched at 1:03 a.m. Sunday to a report of a shooting at a home in the 100 block of Lee Road 41 in the Beauregard community.

Opelika man charged with murder in Lee County

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says an Opelika man has been arrested on a murder charge. The sheriff’s office says 44-year-old David Preston is charged with killing 43-year-old Marcus Strickland of Opelika. Investigators say just after 1AM today, they received a 911 call about a possible shooting at a home in the 100 block of Lee County Road 41 in the Beauregard community.
