Oscar Isaac to Star in Las Vegas Gambling Drama for Netflix
The eight-episode series follows Isaac’s acclaimed turns in Frankenstein and Beef, and Netflix is also lining up a first-look deal with his Mad Gene company.
Oscar Isaac is in final negotiations to star in and executive produce an untitled Netflix drama series set in Las Vegas while simultaneously closing a first-look creative partnership with the streamer.
The deal follows a strong six-month stretch for Isaac and Netflix, which included his Golden Globe-nominated performance in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein and his role in the second season of Beef alongside Carey Mulligan.
Billions creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien serve as showrunners and writers, while Martin Scorsese and Sikelia Productions executive produce and J.C. Chandor directs the first two episodes.
Isaac will play Robert "Bobby Red" Redman, president of a prominent hotel casino who must make "long odds moves to try and secure his position and take more ground," according to Netflix.
Netflix gains first-look rights on film and series projects from Mad Gene, the production company Isaac heads alongside Elvira Lind and Gena Konstantinakos, expanding their creative partnership beyond this series.
