- On Monday, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan pledged one crore jobs and employment opportunities by 2030 while addressing both Houses in Patna on the inaugural day of the month-long Budget session.
- Notably, the pledge traces to the NDA's 2025 Assembly poll manifesto, which the BJP-led coalition won, and the governor framed the target as part of 'development with justice', stressing rule of law and communal harmony.
- Through schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana, officials say the government has so far provided jobs to 50 lakh youths and Rs 10,380 seed grants to women, with up to Rs two lakh follow-on support.
- The plan pairs the jobs pledge with an income goal to double average per capita income within five years, using Rs 76,490 as the baseline, under Saat Nishchay 03.
- Alongside jobs, officials point to health and emergency-service expansions as police personnel rose to 1.21 lakh, police stations to 10,380, and nearly 50 lakh used Dial 112, with medical colleges expanding.
