Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that the recent crisis affecting a number of investment funds did not pose a threat to the Turkish financial system or economy, stressing that the authorities would take the necessary measures to prevent their recurrence.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the AKP party, commenting on the fund crisis, stated, "We are talking about a problem that has emerged in a limited area of the capital markets, in a certain number of funds. Therefore, there is no risk to our financial system or to the Turkish economy. To portray this as a problem affecting the entire market would be an injustice to the Turkish stock market."
Responding to journalists' questions upon his return from the US, Erdoğan made statements regarding the funding crisis that has shaken Türkiye. Erdoğan said, "Whoever is responsible will be held accountable before the law. There should be no doubt about this whatsoever. No one should try to take advantage of the situation, no matter what the reason."
