US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview aired on Friday that oil prices could fall to as low as $40 a barrel once the conflict with Iran is over, which would in turn push down bond yields that have recently reached their highest levels in several years, Bloomberg reports.

"We will come out on the other side of this conflict with Iran and I expect oil to come down," he said.
