One in two people in Austria would feel disturbed if they had Muslims as direct neighbors. This is the finding of a study by the Austrian Integration Fund, presented on Tuesday by Integration Minister Claudia Bauer (ÖVP). Refugees (63 percent) and Roma (53 percent) also encounter strong disapproval. Bauer used the study to further push for the ÖVP's demand for a ban on political Islam.
