The projects are expected to attract more than $7 billion and create over 50,000 direct jobs, officials said.

  • In Paris, France, the Ogun State Government and DP World MEA FZE signed Memoranda of Understanding for the Gateway Deep Sea Port and Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, representing more than $7 billion in initial investment.
  • President Bola Ahmed Tinubu witnessed the signing, commending Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for structuring the investment framework. The development aligns with the federal Renewed Hope Agenda and Ogun's Building Our Future Together strategy.
  • The Gateway Deep Sea Port will feature a four-kilometre berth and an 18-metre draft, handling larger vessels while integrating with a 10,000-hectare Blue Marine Special Economic Zone to support manufacturing and decongest the Lagos port corridor.
  • These projects are projected to generate over 50,000 direct jobs while addressing infrastructure constraints and creating an integrated platform for industrial production, maritime commerce, and access to African and global markets.
  • The emerging corridor will connect the 28-kilometre Ogun section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to the Nigerian Navy Operating Base, Dockyard, and OK LNG Project, strengthening maritime infrastructure integration.
