At the opening stage of the cross-country skiing World Championships season in Ruka, Finland, Swede Frida Karlsson won the women's 10 km individual classic race, while Norwegian Martin Löwström Nyenget won the men's race.
Ruka (Finland) - The opening World Cup races of the Olympic season in the Finnish resort of Ruka were dominated by the Norwegian Martin Löwström Nyenget on the 10 km classic course and, like last year, the Swede Frida Karlsson. Among the Czech representatives, Kateřina Janatová placed best in 28th place, while Jiří Tuž finished in 33rd place among the men.
