Indiana Utility Company Faces Lawsuit as Outage Leaves Thousands in the Dark for Nearly 2 Weeks

- Responding to the lawsuit, NIPSCO noted "vegetation management spend has more than doubled since 2016" and cited "extensive and complex damage" in Gary for the slow restoration.
- Restoration for remaining customers in Gary is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, following storms two weeks ago that initially left more than 300,000 customers without electricity.
