Nurse charged over child abuse allegations
Police allege the nurse used his role to offend against six teenage girls, with charges including stalking, sexual assault and child exploitation material.
On Saturday, detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit arrested a 58-year-old Robina man, charging him with 12 offenses involving six teenage girls.
Police allege the man used his role as a nurse to offend against victims between November 2020 and May 2024.
The charges include six counts of stalking, two counts of indecent treatment, and one count each of sexual assault, abuse of office, and creating child exploitation material.
With bail refused, the man is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday; Gold Coast Health removed the employee from the workplace immediately.
Gold Coast Health stated it is cooperating with the Queensland Police Service, while detectives have appealed for anyone with additional information to come forward.
