Number of workers stung by 60pc tax trap doubles in six years, figures show

Summary
Nearly 700,000 Britons are paying 60pc tax on some of their income, double the number from six years ago, figures show. A quirk of the tax system means anyone with a salary between £100,000 and £125,140 falls victim to a “tax trap”, meaning they pay more on the next pound they earn than people on higher salaries.
