The Office for Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) has published three new reports as part of the investigation into the pollution scandal in Gospić and other places.
USKOK announced that it published the data due to justified public interest, even though the criminal proceedings being conducted against several individuals are not public. The post USKOK publishes new expert reports on waste in Benkovac and Gospić first appeared on narod.hr.
Both documents were compiled at the behest of USKOK, which in February last year launched an investigation against the couple Josip and Monika Šincek, as well as eight other individuals and four companies, due to illegal waste.
Experts from the Geotechnical Faculty estimated that there are at least 6,427 tons of waste at the location, and subsequent research also determined microplastics outside the boundaries of the landfill itself, reports Index.
