USKOK announces findings of waste near Benkovac on the land of jeweler Dodić

Summary
USKOK today published the findings and supplement to the expert assessment of waste disposed of in the former quarry complex in Benkovačko Selo. This concerns the former Adria quarry and land owned by the famous Zagreb jeweler Paško Dodić. Dodić is not a suspect in the investigation into waste in Lika, but his wife Franciska Dodić is, who was associated with the company Izoxeco in partnership with Monika Šincek. In their findings , experts from the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering estimated that there are at least 6427 tons of waste at the site, and subsequent research also determined microplastics outside the boundaries of the landfill itself. Expertise shows that this is an extremely heterogeneous mixture of plastic, rubber, textiles, metal, construction waste and mineral materials. Experts single out microplastics, elevated concentrations of certain metals and the mobility of antimony as the most important environmental problems.
