Is Assassin's Creed Invictus Leak Real? Ubisoft's AI-Generated Claim Explained
Ubisoft said the image was heavily altered and called it misinformation after the leaker admitted using AI to change a private test screenshot.
On Tuesday, Ubisoft criticized leaker Jonathan for spreading "misinformation" after he posted an AI-altered screenshot of Creed Invictus, a rumored PvP-style Assassin multiplayer title.
Reports confirmed earlier this week that playtests for Creed Invictus were held in late April, fueling speculation about the game's unfinished state and development challenges.
Jonathan claimed he used AI only to "improve the image quality" and change colors, though Ubisoft wrote the image was "heavily altered" and "not great to spread misinformation."
Fans responded with mixed criticism, questioning why an AI-edited image was shared when the original was "exactly the same crap," according to Jonathan.
Creed Invictus remains in development alongside Creed Hexe and Creed Black Flag Resynced, with no current suggestion the multiplayer title is launching anytime soon.
