The Nour Traums and Senya District Court in the north of Norway arrested the Russian vessel Professor Silčanov.
The seizure of the Finnish-built vessel, which was used for commercial expeditions, was carried out at the request of a Ukrainian oil and natural gas distribution company.

Norwegian authorities have seized a Russian expedition ship at the request of Ukraine's Naftogaz, in an attempt to force Russia to pay 3.64 billion euros in compensation for property seized in Crimea in 2014.
Naftogaz continues its attempts to forcibly recover billions from Russia by a decision of the Arbitral Tribunal in The Hague for the nationalization of its assets in Crimea, and the Norwegian court has agreed to arrest a Russian research vessel.
