An investigation is underway after a Scarborough High School student was shot by a classmate Friday afternoon in northwest Houston, according to Houston Independent School District.
Student shot by classmate after getting off school bus, rushed to hospital with leg injury: HISD
HISD said the Scarborough High School student was exiting the bus near Benbrook Elementary when he was shot by a fellow classmate. The student was rushed to the hospital and the nearby school was placed on lockdown.
HOUSTON – According to preliminary information provided by Houston’s school district authorities, the student was allegedly shot by another student after getting off the school bus. No other person on board the transport was injured. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting, while police units were on their way to the scene.
